David Rogers/Marc Yeats

Video/Audio UK 2013/15

David Rogers practice includes installation, performance and screen based work and audio, ranging from soundscapes to compositional sound. Work exhibited in both gallery and non gallery situations. Finding himself in an engaging environment, or where a some aspect of the environment provokes interest, he records both sound and video. ‘shadow drawing 1′ is a video ‘field recording’ of ‘pure’ shadows without any intervention from surface, form or colour with no digital manipulation other than editing.

Marc Yeats’ music is performed, commissioned and broadcast worldwide. Transduction, complex surface relationships, un-synchronised alignments, contextual, harmonic and temporal ambiguities, polarised intensities and a visceral joy of sound are all primary concerns.

David Rogers [metamedia] experiments in reinterpreting the landscape ...... re-exploring the Land Art movement through sound, recalling the works of artists such as Richard Long or Robert Smithson who brought artifacts from the natural environment into the gallery, thereby translating qualities of the landscape into a new context. re-exploring the natural environment itself as potential for artworks.
